Yorkshire Alpaca Show

Friday 13th October 2017 we packed the alpaca van ready for the 4 hour drive to Yorkshire. We entered 4 Alpacas, Intermediate Black Male (Churchfield BlackOut) Intermediate Light Female (Bozedown Ballet Dancer) Intermediate Grey Male (Churchfield BedRock) and last but not least Adult Light Male (Houghton Day Breaker).

The judge was Jay Holland and Apprentice Judge was Roger Clarke, Fantastic setup at The York Auction Centre first time being shown in a circular ring which turned out very well. Churchfield BlackOut was our first to be shown very happy to have been placed 4th with this young male. Next up was Churchfield BedRock in a tough class he was awarded 1st place and went on to win overall champion Grey male. I was extremely proud of BedRock as this was his 2X Championship along with 2X Reserve Championship :) After lunch it was time for Bozedown Ballet Dancer in a very tough class placing 1st and then awarded overall Champion light female at this point I am extremely happy and on a high :) Next up was Houghton Day Breaker against some really nice looking Adults, standing in the ring with your stud boy the pressure was on, it felt like a life time for the judges to make a decision thoroughly checking each alpaca we was awarded 1st place and then went on to win overall Champion light male. I couldn't believe it at the end of the day I had 3 Alpacas in the supreme lineup, I was so happy but also worried as I had to find some handlers fast, thankfully Scott (Hilly Ridge Alpacas) & Maddie (Madash Alpacas) was there to the rescue. very nervous but all paid off in the end Houghton Day Breaker was awarded Supreme Champion Huacaya, such a memorable day as this is Day Breakers 2X Supreme Champion, 6X Champion, 4X Reserve Champion Extremely proud to Co-own this Male :)
